before your tattoo.

preparing your skin.

before your appointment, it’s good to make sure that your skin is healthy and in good condition. it would be good to moisturize your skin at least for a week before your appointment. it makes my job a lot easier, and makes the pain a bit easier as well. eczema/rash/pimples on the planned area of the tattoo might make it unable to tattoo the said spot. this is because the broken skin makes the infection risk a lot higher, and the skin will push the ink out during the healing process.

we will shave the spot in the studio, and i suggest you don’t do it at home, to avoid any accidents.

preparing your body.

you should be well rested for your appointment, your pain tolerance will be a lot lower if you’re tired. if you’re feeling sick, please message me asap and we will reschedule your appointment. if you’ll come in clearly sick, i won’t tattoo you, and will send you home to rest.

you should eat and drink well before getting tattooed, doing this before your appointment makes it less likely for you to feel sick or dizzy. i overall encourage you to bring some small snacks and a sugary drink with you, just in case you’ll start to feel unwell.

you shouldn’t have alcohol for 24hrs before your appointment. you should also avoid painkillers that dilute blood, generous bleeding makes tattooing difficult. you shouldn’t get tattooed if you’re hungover, because your attention span and pain tolerance will be a lot lower.

i won’t tattoo you if you’re drunk or high.

other stuff!

you should wear comfortable clothes on your appointment, and something you wouldn’t mind getting ink on. you’re welcome to change your clothes in the bathroom of the studio, if needed. (i.e bringing shorts for getting your thigh tattooed, zip up hoodie for a back tattoo etc. you can ask me what to wear if you’re unsure!)

you’re very welcome to talk and ask questions when getting tattooed. i also don’t mind if you simply don’t feel like chatting, and would rather read a book, listen to music or watch netflix for example.

please come to your appointment alone, our studio is very busy at times, and due to my own disabilities i can’t really work with extra voices and pairs of eyes looking at me working!

i’m hearing impaired, my right ear is fully deaf. so if i don’t answer to you on our appointment, just speak a bit louder please. sorry already if you need to repeat things :)
